Some Problems During a Comprehensive Reform

Resolution of the “boards”

This is a very common problem because the “joints” in the construction are usually not well controlled or resolved, whether they are joints between the same material or between different materials.

When they are made of stone materials, whether natural or artificial, care must be taken with the joints between the different pieces. Currently, with new materials such as Neolith, Dekton, etc., being so hard, the joints between pieces do not usually turn out well.

Grouting between the bathtub and the tiling

This work should always be done with a flexible and fungicidal putty and there are many occasions when this is not done.

The seals of the valves of various radiator inlets/outlets

They must be supplemented with filler material in addition to the neoprene gasket, and they must be moistened from time to time to prevent them from drying out.

The joints between different materials in a wall

They must be “sewn” with a fiberglass mesh during plastering or rendering.

The painting

In order to deliver a well-finished painting, it is essential that the support is in good condition (partitions, plasterboard, etc.) and, above all, filler and sanding between coats. As it is one of the last tasks to be carried out, it is usually done quickly and not given the necessary attention.

The joint between the baseboard and the wall

It is very important to “rule” the bottom of the partitions to smooth out that area as much as possible, so that when the skirting board is placed there is hardly any gap between it and the wall. This is normally solved by grouting with silicone.
